SPRING Term for Driver Education Begins March 2026
A required parent meeting will take place on March 2nd at 6:30pm . You will receive some emails in the week leading up to the parent meeting with more details about the class . Make sure that you register an email that you check regularly. Email will be the only form or reminders that will be sent out for the parent meeting.
Classroom meetings will be on Saturdays 9am-11:30am and some Mondays 4:30-7pm.
Meeting dates: 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, 4/11, 4/18, 5/2, 5/9, 5/11, 5/16, 5/18, 5/30, 6/1, 6/6, 6/8.
Driving appointments will go later into June. Most students will finish all requirements by June 15th but no student will finish before June 8th (the last classroom meeting). Consider this when deciding if this term will work for your student.
DRIVING:
Students will also schedule 6 drive lessons that last 2 hours each. You will get a calendar of possible drive times at the parent meeting.
Eligibility requirements:
Driver Education is for current students of Scio High School. ($50 fee)
- are age 18 or will turn 18 before the end of the session
- currently have their Oregon provisional driver license or will receive their license prior to completing the Driver’s Ed program
- are not enrolled in Scio High School (ex: inter-district transfers out of Scio High School, homeschooled, enrolled in a charter school)
- have been previously claimed through Oregon Department of Transportation’s Student Driver Training Fund
