Driver Education Begins June 2024
Summer term for Driver Education will begin in June of 2024.
A required parent meeting will take place on June 12th at 6:00pm . You will receive some emails in the weeks leading up to the parent meeting with more details about the class . Make sure that you register an email that you check regularly. Email will be the only form or reminders that will be sent out for the parent meeting.
Classroom meetings will be on some MON, TUE, WED (9:30am-12pm) at SHS (see dates below)
Dates of class meetings: 6/17, 6/18, 6/19, 6/24, 6/25, 6/26, 7/8, 7/9, 7/10, 7/15, 7/16, 7/29, 7/30, 7/31
Students will also schedule 6 drive lessons that last 2 hours each. You will get a calendar of possible drive times at the parent meeting.
Registration will close Jan 15th or when we get to 24 registered students.
Eligibility requirements:
Driver Education is for current students of Scio High School.
- are age 18 or will turn 18 before the end of the session
- currently have their Oregon provisional driver license or will receive their license prior to completing the Driver’s Ed program
- are not enrolled in Scio High School (ex: interdistrict transfers out of Scio High School, homeschooled, enrolled in a charter school)
- have been previously claimed through Oregon Department of Transportation’s Student Driver Training Fund
